Welcome to my families

Note: This site is a smaller version of my French site which has sections on biographies, places, sources and trades, among other subjects. If you can read French, click here

The original goal in creating this web site was to share information about Louis Reid, my ancestor, and to solve the enigma surrounding his name....Was he not a Mosly who had changed his name to Reid for some unknown reasons?? After a long search, I have found the evidence that indeed, my ancestor WAS Louis Mosly "dit" (alias) Reid. His father, John Mosly "dit" Reid, had married Madeleine Bourbeau-Verville in Becancour, in 1820. The mariage records show that John Mosly, born in England, was the son of Joseph Mosly and Anna Reid.
note: Mosly = Mosle, Mozelay, Moseley, Moslay. I have seen various spellings of the name and can't make up my mind which one to adopt. John Mosly himself was not consistent in the way he signed his own name.

The challenge now is to find Joseph Mosly and Anna Reid. Any information you might have on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

(The other families you will find here are: Thibeault, Arseneault, Langlois, Morisset, Bergeron, Thériault, Fortin, Robidas, Rochefort, Verville, Tremblay)
